Winter 2024 Tamagotchi Meetup
This year was a first for the NYC Tamagotchi Club ! I have been going to almost all of the meetups, sans a few due to other obligations / etc reasons. The club officially started in April, I joined the next meetup in June, and I had to miss the last meetup in October :'( so when yesterday's meetup was scheduled, I had to be there! I prioritized it over other events happening that day, and honestly, I knew I would not have the energy to do anything after a club meetup LOL. However I greatly overestimated myself!! It is the next day and I am EXHAUSTEEED. Yesterday's meetup was greatly chaotic but I'm glad to have seen all my tama friends again!!
This month we were to have a tama-walk type of event, because of the new Uni's wifi feature where you walk around to collect stickers! However, because it's NYC and around the holidays, it was CRAZY CROWDED everywhere!! So, change of plans, lol! Once the club got everyone together (a bit later than scheduled cause of course the subways have delays, and it was also SANTA CON), we walked a few blocks down to a big Macy's, up to like 9 floors to the top floor where they had couches (but not really meant for leisure, just furniture shopping). We were able to sit down but only for a few moments before we were addressed by security lol. Despite the lack of seating, we stood around for a giveaway! Two new angelgotchi's were given away to the club, and I'm happy for them :) It's always a fun time to see your friend get excited over a new tama!! We all win LOL.
One of the members brought their aibo!! It's from an older series of the aibo from circa 2006-7 I believe!! I'm not super familiar with the aibo series just because of the high cost of entry, but it's always a treat to see one in action!! This one's favorite color for toys is pink, so it was highly attracted to the co-host's pink pants LOL.
I was torn over what tamas to bring with me this time, but I'm glad I kept it pretty light! I brought my new connections, my uni's, and the IDL and sanrio m!x, and it turns out I was able to connect my IDL to my friend's tama P's! I was super excited cause I was waiting for a moment like this ever since my first meetup LMAO. My outfit was matching the case of my IDL too, so it was a very fulfilling moment teehee :3
My tamas are the bottom three: the IDL 15th anniversary, the sanrio m!x, and an angel uni peeking out :) the top vpets are the re-released angelgotchi, the tamagotchi P's, the uni, and the SALEM THE CAT GIGAPETTT!! I had one from my childhood that i repurchased, but i didn't bring it with me this time :') such a wonderfully glitchy vpet haha.

Did I mention I was the My Melody to my friend's Kuromi?? LOL. She's always amazingly goth'd up and I got a bunny bonnet in time for the event so I HAD to wear it obviously >w> We walked through the busy streets of NYC holding hands so we wouldn't get separated!! We ended the day with some well needed bubble tea. It turns out everyone got the same lemonade except for me!! LOL. I got a taro milk tea and was very happy with the day🎔🎔🎔
