things are actually looking up
i'm currently in the middle of packing for my move on friday, but i'm just too excited for the future that it felt appropriate to update my lil blog space here. this month actually was super fucking hectic i'm surprised i pulled this shit off. basically, on april 1 i got the notice that we were being kicked out by our roommates - we had until may 1 to find a place. i was devastated because finances had been rough for us and i essentially got this notice with $0 in our account - lol. so this was our situation: no money, shit ass credit, and no help. every day felt like a countdown to homelessness again because it was a good 20+ days of no luck, wasting money on application fees, rejections, and ghosting.
last week I managed to find a studio sublet situation for a year, with possibility of extension + takeover of the lease. the rent is cheaper for a bigger space, and best of all it's just for us (me+partner). even managing to get this sublet was a whole adventure in of itself, but alas in nyc real estate, shit moves QUICK. i'm so so so happy that it worked out for us. We're currently in the middle of packing but it's not much anyways, since we've just been subletting a room. We got rid of our loft bed frame (rip but also good riddance lol) and don't have much in terms of furniture anyways. i've got a mover hired, got keys copied, updated my addresses etc etc. so just a few more days of chaos until we get settled innnn!!!!!!! maybe i'll update again soon
